COUNTRY VILLAGE

V F Waste Services provides for “backdoor” garbage and trash pick-up including clippings, leaves in plastic garbage bags and curbside pick-up for clippings and trimmings for each address as well as the clubhouse and playground. Trash and garbage pickup service is on Monday & Thursday; heavy trash pickup is on Thursday.

To report pickup problems contact V F Waste Services at 713-787-9790.

Recycling is offered.

The following is a summary of services provided by V F Waste Services (Contractor):

BACKDOOR On each regularly scheduled collection day, Contractor will collect, at or near the backdoor, all properly packaged household waste, grass clippings and leaves.  Household waste will be placed in containers with a capacity of up to 96 gal. or in plastic garbage bags.  Maximum of 6 bags not exceeding 40 pounds per pickup.  For convenient pickup, boxes from new move-ins should be collapsed, bundled, and tied; they may be left at the back door or placed at the curb.

CURBSIDE   Tree trimmings and branches cut in length not to exceed four (4) feet, securely tied in bundles and not weighing more than forty (40) pounds will be collected at the curb.

NON PICKUP ITEMS Contractor will not pick up tires or hazardous materials, (i.e. batteries, oil, gas tanks, lead or oil based paint, or any other container housing or having housed hazardous materials).  Contractor will only accept and dispose of refrigeration or air condition equipment if provided with written evidence that its refrigerant has been properly removed and disposed of prior to pick-up, as mandated by section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

HEAVY AND OTHER TRASH Contractor will do his best to collect these items when placed at the curb on Thursday.  Heavy and bulky items are not specifically defined in the contract but they are usually items such as furniture and appliances; other items that may require special handling would be carpet and construction material (i.e. rocks, bricks, concrete, dirt, roofing, lumber).  If you have carpet, branches, fence boards, sheet rock or cabinets, break them down in size, tie in bundles of no more than 40 lbs. and set them neatly at the curb.  If you have a huge amount please put it out a little at a time or in sections.  Under some circumstances there may be a separate charge to you so if you have questions, unusual requirements, or an excessive amount of trash you are urged to call the Contractor at 713-787-9790 to discuss your situation.  Any separate charge to the resident for the special trash pick-up is to be negotiated by the resident and Contractor prior to collection.

CONTAINERS All trash containers will be returned to their pickup point in the same condition in which they were taken, normal wear and tear excepted.

SPILLAGE Contractor shall pick up all spillage of garbage and rubbish which is dropped or which may fall from the truck.  Contractor will also make a reasonable attempt to pick up all garbage from torn or overturned garbage containers.

HOLIDAYS Major holidays observed by the Contractor will the following: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  If a holiday falls on a collection day there will be no pick up on that day; trash will be picked up on the next day (Tuesday or Friday).

As a courtesy to your neighbors the Board asked that you not place your curbside trash out any earlier than the night before the scheduled pickup day.  Since trash bags no longer have to be picked up at the curb, there is no reason for them to sit at the curb all weekend or for several days makes the neighborhood look bad.

RECYCLING
V.F. Waste Services provides recycling service for our community once a week on Wednesdays between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.  The bins must be placed curbside for pick up.  If you need a recycling bin, VF waste will provide one. You may also use recycle bins that you have in your possession that have been kept from previous recycle providers.    In addition, each household can add two more of their own containers for recycling similar to our bins.  The recyclable items must be placed inside the bins and must not overflow.
